Professional Experience

School Psychologist:
Ionia County Intermediate School District, Ionia, Michigan, 2007 – present

Currently, completing psycho-educational evaluations and providing consultation to teachers, administrators and parents while developing, implementing and monitoring educational programs for students.  Pre-primary and early elementary are the primary referral group, resulting in an emphasis on developing social skills, behavior management strategies, and self-awareness and self-advocacy skills for each individual.   In addition, parent and teacher training are provided in both large and small group settings throughout the school focusing on a variety of academic, behavioral, and data management topics.

Instructional Consultation Team Facilitator:
Ionia County Intermediate School District, Ionia, Michigan, 2008 – present

Coordinate activities, train staff, and facilitate the instructional consultation process in an early elementary building while managing individual student and teacher cases through consultation, assessment, plan design and monitoring of progress for academic and behavioral concerns as requested by teachers.

Clinical Experience

Vista Maria - Vision Program, Dearborn Heights, 2005
In completion of the clinical internship, created and facilitated group therapy groups, on emotion regulation and coping with negative peer influences with adolescents.  Gained experience completing individual therapy with adolescent females and was trained in using the Juvenile Agency Information System (JAIS) and attended various formal and informal meetings on campus.

Hazel Park School District, Edison MAX School,  2005
In completion of the School Psychology Internship, completed academic and cognitive assessments, participated in Child Study Team Meetings, Evaluation Review Meetings, Multidisciplinary Team Meetings, Individual Education Plan Meetings, wrote psycho-educational reports of assessments and interpretations, conducted parent and student interviews, and completed pre and post-testing, as well as Functional Assessments of Behavior and Behavior Intervention Plans.  Gained experience counseling elementary aged students diagnosed with emotional impairments and in implementing class-wide social skills curriculum with middle and high school students.

Detroit Public Schools, 2005-2007
While completing the School and Community Psychology program, participated in practicum across the two year program including classroom and school meeting observations (Pre-referral, ERM, MET, IEPC); behavior modification for school aged youth; school psychology practice; and community based counseling.
