School Psychologist:
Christian Learning Center, Grand Rapids, Michigan,  2004 - present
               Currently, completing psycho-educational evaluations and providing consultation to teachers, administrators and parents in the course of developing, implementing and monitoring educational programs for referred students.  High school students anticipating progression to college or vocational placement are the primary referral group, resulting in an emphasis on developing self-awareness and self-advocacy skills for each individual.   In addition, parent and teacher training are provided in both large and small group settings.

Psychologist:
Pine Rest Christian Mental Health Services, Grand Haven, Michigan, 2004 - 2007
                Provided evaluation, consultation and behavior skills training to children and parents experiencing difficulty with a variety of childhood behavior disorders including attention problems, oppositional behavior, depression, anxiety, anger management, school failure, and adjustment problems, among others.  Clients are seen individually and consultation is provided with school and medical professionals as needed.

Guest Lecturer, Department of Education:
Aquinas College, Grand Rapids, Michigan,  2004 - 2007
               Taught graduate and undergraduate students who are seeking endorsement as teachers of the learning disabled.  Courses taught include Learning Disabilities: Theory to Practice (EN 464/564), and Productive Interactions (EN 467/567).

                Completed psycho-educational evaluations, provided consultation to teachers and administrators, intervened with parents in the course of developing, implementing and monitoring intervention programs for high-incidence (e.g., learning disabilities, emotional impairments) and low-incidence impairments (e.g., mental impairments, autism). Participated in the development of the district’s Crisis Intervention Team; developed and implemented project “Open Doors,” an extensive assessment program designed to evaluate school readiness; participated in the development of the district’s Autistic Impaired program.

                Completed a post-doctoral fellowship in pediatric psychology emphasizing treatment of a wide range of childhood behavior, academic, and medical difficulties. Assessment, intervention, and consultation services are being provided to families, medical staff, and schools from urban/suburban primary care settings in Council Bluffs, Iowa, and Papillion, Nebraska. Individual and group supervision was provided to a school psychology graduate student and to pre-doctoral interns.

July 2002-July 2003 (2000 hours)
                Completed the 12-month, pre-doctoral internship requirement of the Ph.D. in School Psychology. Worked in a pediatric primary care setting, Hastings Children and Adolescent Clinic, provided diagnostics as well as individual and family therapy. Services were provided to children with a variety of disabilities and behavior difficulties (e.g., oppositional defiant disorder, disruptive behavior disorder, pervasive development disorder, ADHD, tic disorder, encopresis, enuresis, diabetes, feeding disorder, learning disability, sleep disturbance). Behavioral strategies, including Parent Child Interaction Therapy, were utilized. Supervised by licensed psychologists, Rachel Valleley, Ph.D., and Mark Shriver, Ph.D.

2000-2001 Academic year (600 hours)
                In completion of the School Psychology Advanced Practicum, participated in “well baby” checks, interviewed and provided consultation to parents and pediatricians. Full psycho-educational evaluations, behavior plans, parent training, school interventions, and monitoring of medication effects were provided to children referred for ADHD or other significant behavior, health, emotional, or learning difficulties.
